So you’d think Republicans would have a little patience while we clean up their mess, or, heck, even a little apology for acting a little nuts.

For example:

You didn’t get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.

You didn’t get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy.

You didn’t get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.

You didn’t get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.

You didn’t get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.

You didn’t get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said illegal war.

You didn’t get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.

You didn’t get mad when you found out we were torturing people.

You didn’t get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.

You didn’t get mad when we didn’t catch Bin Laden.

You didn’t get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.

You didn’t get mad when we let a major US city drown.

You didn’t get mad when we gave a 900 billion tax break to the rich.

You didn’t get mad when, using reconciliation; a trillion dollars of our tax dollars were redirected to insurance companies for Medicare Advantage which cost over 20 percent more for basically the same services that Medicare provides.

You didn’t get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark, and our debt hit the thirteen trillion dollar mark.

(The above is a copy/paste of a nice rant about some of the many errors of the Bush admin. This rant has been making the rounds for awhile now and I don’t know where it originated. What follows is an addition.)

Yet you get mad at President Obama for what exactly?

Expanding health care coverage to over 30 million more Americans while making the worst health insurance industry abuses illegal and reducing the deficit? (source)

Credit card reform which protects consumers from credit card company abuses? (source)

Lowering taxes for 95% of working families? (source)

Being on target to cut Bush’s huge deficit in half within four years? (source)

The DOW going from 6500 to over 11000 during his Presidency? (source)

Is it because he signed expanded gun rights into law while not making any moves towards gun control? (source)

The recession reversing with job losses turning into job gains? (source)

Working to reform Wall Street Reform so we don’t experience another economic meltdown like what happened under Bush’s “leadership” in September 2008? (source)

Working to reduce loose nukes in order to decrease the chances of a nuclear attack on the US by terrorists? ( source )

Notice those last two are “works in progress.” These are things Obama is trying to do but the Republicans are doing everything they can stop him from being successful on these fronts (similar to how they pulled out every trick in the book to try to stop health care reform.) They don’t seem to care that stopping Obama from getting “political victories” (their biggest concern it seems) may lead to a terrorist nuking a major US city or another economic meltdown.

Think about that. “Country First”? Hardly. The Republican Party of today seems to exist only to further it’s own existence. They will stop at nothing to defeat Obama politically. They don’t care how many lies they have to tell or what the long term consequences are for average Americans.

It’s because of this that I think it’s of very much importance for the future of the United States that the “Republican Tea Party” be defeated this November. Do your part. Make sure you are registered to vote and get to the polls to vote against all Republican Tea Party candidates.

This turned into an interesting reading.

The question placed before the cards was:

What will be the result to Obama — of his response to the handling of the BP oil disaster.

The answers in cards came – from left to right:

1) Ace of Cups – Reversed:  Loss of faith, respect, and disappointment

2) Cups – The Page – Reversed: Bad news received, tempers flared, outbursts.

3) The Fool – Reversed:  Innocence and image of naivete lost; can also be read as possible warning against rash decisions.

Then I did the smart thing, and looked it up – and it turned out that I was completely misguided by my fears. Here’s a reprint of the joke:

“Jonas Brothers are here, they’re out there somewhere. Sasha and Malia are huge fans, but boys, don’t get any ideas. Two words for you: predator drones. You will never see it coming. You think I’m joking?”

I was relieved afterward, seeing that it was OBVIOUSLY not the sick kind of joke Bush made about trying to find hidden WMD’s in Iraq. What’s the difference? Obama wasn’t making fun of the victims, soldiers, or people we are at war with, or the families of victims of any war. He was making fun of the Jonas Brothers. Celebrities. Big, big, big difference.

Sigh of relief….

The Republicans scream and yell the most dishonest, offensive, and outrageous statements, repeating them ad nauseum, even going as far as calling the mainstream media “liberal” whenever it tries to correct them on their lies. (The media is in fact right wing and extremely corporate-owned, which is why their lies constantly go unchallenged). Obama and the Democrats seem to simply ignore these screaming imbeciles as if they were nothing more than white noise, while the rest of us in the real world have to put up with the result of their lies. The results usually turn up in casual conversation with neighbors and friends repeating the lies as if it were doctrine.

Obama needs to take the Republicans in the back room and let the beatings begin.  There is absolutely NO excuse for allowing such unforgivable behavior from the right wing to continue.

On a side note…

The Dems need to cull the herd in their own party and start demanding real progressive action.

The Blue Dogs keep putting up with the lies from the right… and then they won’t take action until the damage has been done and corrective actions become laughably ineffective.

I don’t mean to be so rough on my beloved Dems.

Afterall, the Dems don’t have the power of a mainstream media to support their statements. The Republicans scrubbed all of the FCC regulations which once required news media organizations to actually tell the truth. Clinton helped the Republicans when he allowed giant media conglomerates to take over smaller media outlets – thus creating the stronghold that Fox News has today. We went from having tons and tons of independent media news outlets – like newspapers, radio stations, etc that were privately owned – to media outlets that are all owned by less than a handful of different organizations — ABC, NBC, Fox, etc. In the end, you end up with a vacuum where facts go to die – and info-tainment is the norm.

But back to my point… The Dems need to grow a set and help Obama find a spine…because you certainly can’t expect anything good to come from a screaming eight year old monster child Republican.

We now have it, too, thanks to the Supreme Court’s ruling. Actually, thanks to George W. Bush and the Republican Party, we can now finally say we are finally living in a fascist United States of America.

And to think they were worried that it would be Obama and the Democrats who would be bringing us that little gift. They don’t even know what the word “fascist” means, not surprisingly.

But I also blame Obama for what’s happened. He didn’t fight the Republicans in the legislature, hasn’t gone after the Bush administration to seek any kind of punishment, and hasn’t fought hard enough to create the kind of change he promised (like green energy jobs, bringing home the troops, closure of Gitmo, etc.).

The Bush administration and the Republicans in power left us a giant, flaming mess. And I really hate sounding as if I’m upset because it hasn’t been fixed. I’m actually really happy with the Democrats who’ve been pushing hard for the progressives (like Kucinich, Boxer, Wexler, Feingold, etc etc). But I’m really upset that they also keep buckling to any kind negative media press, refusing to fight back and stand up for their party’s constituents.

We need an FDR Democrat in office – not a Clinton Democrat. We need Obama to say “I *hope* Wall Street bankers, Big Oil, Big Pharma, and Bush Criminals are afraid of me – Instead of saying “I’m willing to put the past behind us and look the other way.

Insurance companies will be on steroids, dumping more and more people for no reason at all – Charging more and more money every year for premiums and deductibles, providing less and less coverage.

And now that the Supreme Court has passed a law saying corporations are protected in saying whatever they want, just like people, they can run more commercials to fight reform.

Obama made a HUGE mistake trying to make nice with everyone. He made a huge mistake assuming Democrats would be happy with “any kind” of “health care reform”.

Make no mistake about this, though: We Dems are not going to vote Republican just because of this – But we certainly won’t be voting for the Blue Dog Dem incumbents. The legislature needs to grow a backbone and stop worrying about trying to please Republicans in the House and Senate.

Government-Run Healthcare means you won’t get dropped, you won’t lose your coverage, and you won’t lose your house. Obama simply needs to write an executive order demanding “Medicare for All” and simply put us on a Single Payer system – Where every man, woman and child is covered by insurance. The same way every other country on the face of the planet is.

But if you ask them if $100 billion per year is “too much” for another war – they’re all on board, behind Obama and the Republicans.

Literally, we have more children living in poverty now than any other time in history (since the great depression), and unemployment is in the double-digits.

Obama says healthcare costs must be controlled, and nothing of substantial change will occur until 2013…!!!!!

But another 3-4 years in Afghanistan? Hell yeah, let’s spend another $2-3 BILLION PER WEEK for a war we CANNOT AFFORD!

I seriously don’t give a rat’s ass about terrorism – Sorry, but I just don’t. Your chances of being killed in a terrorist attack? You are more likely to win the lottery – twice – this year – than to ever – EVER – be killed by a terrorist.

More people die in plane crashes per year than in terrorist attacks.

Are we doing anything about airline safety – due to crashes? Nope. Are we doing anything about safety when it involves terrorism? Every single g-damned time I go the airport, I’m reminded of what a huge effing a-hole G.W. Bush was on 9/11, pretending to care more about capturing Bin Laden, but instead sending us to Iraq to hi-jack oil fields for his buddies.

But, hey, I shouldn’t complain.

We have a “Democrat” in the White House – who will more than likely help the Republicans get control next November.

This makes perfect sense.

Basically, Obama is a Clinton-Republican. Not a true Democrat – but a Lieberman Democrat. Someone in the White House who is basically trying their darndest to help the Right Wing get everything they’ve been wanting for the last 100 years.

Clinton basically handed the rightwing their wettest and wildest dreams with NAFTA legislation, de-regulation of the media industry by allowing giant corporations to take over them, and also by allowing the energy, banking and Wall Street boys to become as de-regulated as they were before the great depression.

Bush pushed for it and definitely made it all happen. But it was also Clinton who basically caved to Republicans in the House who were pushing for all of the massive de-regulation.

The left wasn’t pushing back hard enough, and basically fell back on their promises to protect and deliver on Campaign Finance Reform, Global Energy / Green Energy / Kyoto Protocol changes and reforms. Al Gore would’ve helped insure those changes went into place. But instead, as soon as Bush came into office, he dismantled every single progressive and green environmental legislation in place, rolling back more than 50-years of progress. Bush also pushed hard for voting de-regulation with the “Help America Vote Act” – which was basically the “Help Count Less Votes Act” – designed to make sure every single vote that was tallied on a faulty Diebold machine was protected – and any voter with dark skin was called into question, and given fewer working voting machines in their precinct, thus guaranteeing 8-12 hour waits in long lines.

I’m feeling extremely frustrated this morning…

It’s high time to start putting the law down on those idiots who do nothing else except bully the others into submission.

It’s not 2004 anymore.  It’s not even 9/12.  For crying out loud, it’s effing 2009!

Grow a set!  Man up!!!

You are dealing with people who have killed for far less than what they are killing for now.  These people don’t know policy or how to get things done.  All they know how to do us frighten innocent people into making them vote the way they want them to.

Power is EVERYTHING to these people.   Because being in power is like being king.  They don’t believe in following laws anymore than they believe in paying taxes or living by the same rules everyone else has to.

To them – They “earned” their wealth and gosh darn it, no one is gonna make them live or act like “common” people.

They believe their wealth – their class – their nobility – their “closeness” with the “royals of their day” – should give them the right to break any g-damned law they choose.

George Bush wasn’t a president – he was appointed – he was – quite literally – more of an emperor or a king than an elected president.

He was – indeed – “King George”.

And back in jolly old King George’s day, only the “little people” paid taxes.  Only the “little people” had to obey the laws of the land.

Obama:  Please stop letting the rich have their way, while still making everyone else relent to their wishes.

If you’re not gonna stand up for us, who will??

I don’t even know where to begin.

It’s like my mother-in-fucking-law. I love her. But sometimes, she is about as clueless as can be. And she even “claims” to be paying attention. But then somehow can’t seem to understand “what all the fuss is about” “why is healthcare such a big deal?”. It’s easy for you to say that ’cause you’re covered under GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE – CALLED *MEDICARE*, Grandma!

Oh, I dunnnnoo… Could it be because people are fucking losing their homes because they had the audacity to get cancer and get dropped from the healthcare plan they had been paying into for the last 40 years?? Or they got fired because the company they worked for packed up and left for Indonesia or India – or – gasp – Mexico. Geeze Leeewwweeeezz. Do you really need a lesson in economics to know how hard-hitting that can be on someone’s pocketbook? It’s not bad enough that you get cancer from the environmental elements – like toxins in the air and water (Thanks, W., for the “uber-clean” clean air policies you gave your buddies in the energy sector) — but that your healthcare provider (like United Health Group or PacifiCare) wants to give more to its CEO’s than to it’s customers. When you put profits before people – you are asking for some baaaad-assed Karma to come down your street.
